1967 Corvette Stingray Time Capsule Receives Its First Wash in 33 Years – Truly an Impressive Transformation

Dealing with old cars isn’t all sunshine and clean leather. Sometimes you’ve got to get your hands really dirty. But that’s part of the joy, a modern-day treasure hunt. Who knows, if you’re lucky, you might come across something as cool as this 1967 Corvette Stingray.

As the story goes, AMMO NYC gained access to an incredible car collection last month. Over 300 classic cars collected over about four decades were sitting in storage collecting dust.

The owner is finally ready to part ways with some of them, but they’re going to need a clean-up before going on sale, and the YouTube channel specializing in car detailing just began work on this classic Stingray.

The Vette is first moved to a place where it can be better detailed. The process begins with a quick vacuum of the interior. After that, the leather seats are cleaned and assessed, followed by the dashboard. After shampooing, the 1960s iconic sports car is looking almost as good as new, certainly deserving of the ‘time capsule’ title.

Some would call this a barn find, but it’s really not. The Corvette wasn’t sitting under a tarp next to the chicken coop. The collector probably knew and loved each car, and we can only hope the next owner has it in the same condition after another 33 years.

The engine also gets attention. Only time will tell what the next owner plans to do under there. This Corvette has such an amazing story that it would almost be a shame to have it restored or modernized. Almost.

Cleaning videos have long been the automotive equivalent of ASRM, and AMMO NYC has been at the center of it all. And it’s not just getting rid of the dust, through polishing, they remove decades of neglect to bring cars back to pristine condition
