Exceptional Ford Mustang Up for Auction at a Jaw-Dropping Price… but Enthusiasts Have Limited Time to Secure It

A RARE Ford Mustang has hit auction for an eye-watering price – but you’ll have to act fast to snap it up.

The 1966 classic is described as a “beautiful coupe” in the listing, which has already seen several bids come in.

Finished here in a deep midnight blue, the Mustang is the godfather of American muscle cars.

This particular example rolled off the production line at the manufacturer’s iconic plant in San Jose, California, almost 50 years ago.

Despite its age, it is in remarkably presentable condition, and is “ready to use and enjoy”.

Its design is typical of the era, with a wide bonnet and sleek lines smoothing out the frame.

The Mustang’s signature aggression is retained with its comparatively low ride height and chrome detailing, all capped off the with brand’s beloved galloping stallion badge.

And that aggression is backed up by a meaty 4.7-litre, 90-degree V8 that produces 225 horsepower and a hefty 305 ft.lb of torque, as well as its signature roar.

Inside, two-tone vinyl seating and original fittings and fixtures give it a retro look without appearing dated.

The listing from auctioneers Car and Classic reads: “The Mustang is one of motoring’s true icons, a game-changing car that gave the people what the people didn’t realise they secretly wanted.

“With many iterations to choose from, finding the right specification Mustang is key.

“This 1966 V8 ticks many of the boxes Mustang buyers surely look for.

“Very original, nicely presented and in a great colour scheme it also has that thumping V8 soundtrack to top things off.”

The excellent condition informs the significant asking price of 15,00 euros (around £12,800), onto which will be added the cost of transporting it from the Czech Republic.

However, enthusiasts don’t have long to get in on the action, as the auction ends on Sunday at 6.30pm.

The reserve price has not yet been met, so buyers could get away with a bargain.

It comes after a classic Jaguar straight out of a James Bond hit auction on the same site.

Meanwhile, at the other end of the price scale, a motors expert revealed the best used cars you can buy for under £5,000.
