John Travolta Shares Sweet Video of Son’s Dog Waking Him Up – Dogs And Pets

John Travolta is having a ruff time trying to get any words out.

On Friday, the Old Dogs actor shared a short and sweet clip on Instagram of his son’s dog slobbering all over his face.

“This is how Ben’s dog Peanut wakes me up,” Travolta captioned a video of the dog repeatedly licking his face.

Travolta uses a baby voice with the animal in the video, but his words are nearly impossible to understand as he is slobbered on by the aforementioned Peanut.

Peanut appears to be a new name for the dog formerly known as Mac N Cheese. Travolta adopted her for his son after Jamie Lee Curtis brought her on stage during the Oscars In Memoriam segment this year to honor Betty White and her dedication to animal welfare. The dog, along with a few other puppies, was “dumped in a box outside” of an animal shelter, according to Paw Works co-founder Chad Atkins.

Peanut, her three siblings, and their mother were dropped off outside the Avenal Animal Shelter in Avenal, California. And by the 94th Academy Awards, she was the only one who still hadn’t found a home. Curtis initially refused to have a trained dog appear in the segment.

“Jamie Lee Curtis was the one who said, ‘No, no, no, we can’t do that.’ Betty White is well-known for her love of animals and has long been an advocate for animal rescue. It has to be a rescued animal,’ says the owner “Atkins stated.

Travolta only agreed to adopt the puppy after locking eyes with her for 30 minutes after the show. “So it’s happily ever after for her now,” Atkins, who delivered the dog to the Travoltas the next day, said.

“I thought it was so lovely to see him with her, and then I found out today that he and his son, Ben, have adopted beautiful little Mac & Cheese and are taking her home today,” Curtis wrote after the ceremony. “It is an emotional ending and a perfect tribute to Betty White, and it shines a light and AMPLIFIES the message that heroes who love and support ANIMALS, like Betty and Chad from @pawworks and Nancy from @perfect pet rescue and the team at @maedayrescue, that rescuing animals and offering them shelter from the storm of life and a warm and loving home is one of the most important actions we humans can take! #adoptdontshop.”

Curtis encouraged those in the audience and those watching at home to adopt an animal, referring to White as “a woman who cared so much for not just her two-legged friends but for animals just like this.”
