350-Powered 1970 Chevrolet Nova 4-Speed


This 1970 Chevrolet Nova coupe rolled off the production line at GM’s Willow Run, Michigan, facility. It came into the possession of the selling dealer in March 2022 after an extended period of storage. The previous owner had the body repainted in a rich burgundy hue. Under the hood, you’ll find a replacement 350ci V8 engine paired with a Muncie four-speed manual transmission and a Positraction rear end.

Notable features include front disc brakes, exhaust headers, SS-style 14″ wheels, a Hurst shifter, a cassette stereo, and comfortable front bucket seats. In 2022, a series of maintenance tasks were completed, including an engine-out reseal, a thorough cleaning of the fuel system, an overhaul of the braking system, and new tires all around. This Nova also comes with a spare Delco AM radio and a clean Oregon title.

Finished from the factory in Forest Green (48), the body was refinished in its current burgundy color approximately 20 years ago according to the selling dealer. Exterior touches include a side mirror, chrome bumpers, and SS-style badging and trim. The body, trim, and noted blemishes are depicted further in the gallery below.

SS-style 14″ wheels retain chrome trim rings and are wrapped in 225/70 General tires that were reportedly mounted under current ownership. The car is equipped with front disc brakes, and the system was serviced in preparation for the sale with replacement pads, rotors, and seals according to the selling dealer.

Cabin finishes include black vinyl upholstery on the seats and door panels, black carpeting, and color-keyed trim. Equipment includes a floor-mounted Hurst shifter, an aftermarket cassette stereo unit, and a pair of auxiliary gauges mounted at the base of the dash. GM-branded safety belts are provided for the front occupants.

The three-spoke steering wheel frames a horizontal 120-mph speedometer along with a fuel gauge and ventilation controls. The five-digit odometer shows 23k miles. True mileage is unknown.

The replacement 350ci V8 is said to have been rebuilt under prior ownership, and it was reportedly removed and resealed following the selling dealer’s acquisition. Features include an Edelbrock intake manifold and air cleaner housing, Chevrolet-branded valve covers, and coated headers mated to a dual exhaust system. The replacement engine block bears the suffix stamp BMA, indicating a later 350ci V8. The fuel system was serviced and cleaned in preparation for the sale.
