Barn Find 1970 Dodge Challenger: A Remarkable Time Capsule from the 1970s

A classic car auction website like barnfinds.com can be a great way to find the classic car you’ve been waiting for. Rarely though, are you able to see a multitude of photos of that car as well as a video of the car running, driving and stopping from a driver’s POV.

For anyone in the market for a 1970 Dodge Challenger, a video on the Barn Finds Garage YouTube channel offers an extra glimpse into how the car starts, runs, and drives. Take a look at the listing on barnfinds.com or check out the YouTube video for a closer look at this clean muscle car that looks like it could have rolled off the assembly line yesterday.

1970 Dodge Challenger Cold Start

The video starts off with the removal of a gray car cover from the orange and black Challenger. With a hand to the engine cover showing that it’s cold, the video pans across the clean engine bay proving this Dodge has been well cared for.

Once the key gets put into the ignition, the Challenger fires up successfully almost immediately and the rumbling engine sounds that follow audibly prove this is a good running classic.

The car’s radio gets turned on and the driver does some engine revving to really demonstrate the sounds of the Challenger’s exhaust and powerful engine. Once outside the garage it’s parked in, the car gets driven around a residential neighborhood and does some accelerating up to speeds of around 40 mph.

Later, the driver does a burnout after stopping at a stop sign and gets the Dodge Challenger up to around 40 mph again, showing off the muscle car’s speed. He later shifts it into reverse and backs the Dodge up a short distance before shifting back into drive and taking off again.
