1959 Buick LeSabre Hardtop Coupe Custom – Unique Combination of Fashion and Technology

In a radical departure from its predecessors, the 1959 Buick lineup underwent a dramatic transformation, abandoning the chrome-laden embellishments of the Fabulous Fifties in favor of a sleek, modern, and expansive design. This bold new aesthetic called for a fresh set of model names, leading Buick to introduce the LeSabre, Invicta, and Electra badges for the 1959 model year.

Taking inspiration from the 1951 General Motors dream car, the 1959 LeSabre symbolized Buick’s entry-level offering. Despite its position in the lineup, these vehicles were still generously equipped, boasting a 364 cubic-inch V-8 engine and the option of a Dynaflow automatic transmission.

The LeSabre range encompassed a wide variety of body styles, including a two-door convertible and a four-door station wagon. Notably, the first-generation LeSabre was produced for just two years, and the 1959 models hold special appeal due to their distinctive exterior sheet metal, which underwent substantial revisions for the 1960 model year. As a result, the 1959 LeSabre examples are highly sought after by enthusiasts and collectors alike.
