Take a Look At This Charming 1966 Chevrolet Corvair Corsa in Search of a New Home

Chevrolet Corvair Corsa, rusty, rear quarter view

An unusual element of this model is that the floor in the front is completely flat. There would usually be a hump here to house the transmission. Another non-traditional element here is the rear-mounted engine. This is their first horizontally opposed-six engine, aka the flat-six.

This layout is unusual in that it has three cylinders on either side of the central crankshaft. It also has four carburetors and a factory dual-snorkel air cleaner. The battery is missing, which is an easy fix, but there are some serious rust issues in the engine bay and around the accelerator up front.

Tommy reveals that the engine has seized, making this the fourth rescued car in a row with a stuck engine. He also doesn’t have a key to open the hood, and wonders what could be inside. But according to him, this car has more potential than any of the other three.

Hopefully, they can get it going again because there is definitely more to this car than meets the eye
