The Ford Mustang Boss 429 Revived in Production Boasting 815 HP (Video)

Behold the first brand new 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429 in 50 years.

Earlier this year, fans of classic muscle cars rejoiced when Ford announced it’s teaming up with Classic Restorations to produce new continuation versions of the 1969-1970 Mustang Boss 302, the 1969-1970 Mustang Boss 429, and the 1969-1970 Mustang Mach 1. Fast forward half a year later, and the officially-licensed 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429 continuation car has made its public debut at the 2018 SEMA show.

The first brand new 1969 Ford Boss 429 Mustang to be built in 50 years is based on an original 1969 Mustang body and has been restored to factory condition in-house at Classic Recreations. While it looks exactly like the original on the outside, the original car’s 7.0-liter V8E has been replaced with a custom-built, fuel-injected 8.4-liter V8 making 815 horsepower. The engine also has a modern EFI fueling system, upgraded valve train and ECU. It’s mated to a Tremec manual transmission with a Centerforce DYAD twin disc clutch and flywheel.

To maintain stability at high speeds, the team at Classic Restorations has fitted a 4-link rear suspension and front tubular upper and lower control arms along with adjustable coilovers and oversized sway bars. MagnaFlow stainless steel performance mufflers and stainless steel Worx long tube headers allow the 815-horsepower engine to breathe while giving the car an aggressive sound.
